Feature Film Sound Design and Music Mix Engineering

I’ve been very passionate about music my entire life. I grew up playing the drums with a little piano and saxophone as well. All that led to my love of deejaying that started somewhere around the age of 19. I’ve been collecting house music ever since and have had the blessing of having played in all kinds of places from dive bars to huge night clubs and even Burning Man. One thing led to another and that love of music led to sound design and editing.

Some of my feature film credits include: The Thin Red Line, 300, The Watchmen, Crazy Rich Asians, and Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse.

Some of my television credits include: ER, The West Wing, Smallville, Prison Break, Banshee, and Stranger Things.

I’ve also been recording my own sound effects over the years and have amassed a personal library that includes everything from cat meows to bullet whizzes and space shuttle sonic booms to Coqui frogs and World Cup semi-final crowds. My sonic boom recording has been in several Superman films, and the recordings of my cats have been in films meowing to stars like Harrison Ford and Jennifer Lopez.

Deejaying led to sound design, and sound design helped influence my already budding interest in music production. My music production started off in the late 90’s with a “white label” remix that a friend and I had pressed to 1000 copies on vinyl. I’ve since put out some of my own original music and more remixes, one of which is approaching 2 million plays on Soundcloud. I work from my home studio in San Antonio, TX, and have several microphones a vocalist can choose from, including a tube powered Lauten Audio Eden LT-386, and a Neumann TLM 103. I also have the coveted Avalon 737sp tube mic pre that has been on countless hit records over the last few decades, as well as a pair of the industry standard Neve 1073 mic pres. I would love to help you record and mix your next album!
